...and I'm not talking about the Britney Spears song!
The simple fact is is that I am feeling toxic. There are many factors that can be blamed with this overall feeling of unwellness - all of which are wrong choices on my behalf. Bad diet, not enough exercise, never enough sleep, and I am sure that stress does not help. So what is the appropiate action to take when feeling this way? - the answer is DETOX.
So I rummaged through my bookshelves finally coming across a couple of good books to point me in the right direction: 'Natural Detox' by Marie Farquharson and "Fit for Life' by Harvery & Marilyn Diamond. Of course Fit for Life may be like a religion to some people, and I probably won't do everything they say but I found that most of their basic philosophy surrounding food and how our bodies store it, and dispose of it do make sense. I did try their healthy eating guide a number of years ago and felt tremendous! They believe that being that our bodies are made up of 70% water then we should be consuming foods high in water, namely fruit and vegetables - that seems to make sense.
I decided that today is probably not a good time to start a serious fast as I am working on my final for my Gender Violence class, so I decided to do a less strict detox that mainly consists of fruit and vegetables, and plenty of water. Half a day into it and I am feeling pretty good!
You are doing great adding all those fruits and veggies in! I have never done a detox before, but it does make sense to me. In today's busy life it is so easy to not exercise or prepare good wholesome food instead of chemical filled convenience foods. I do that a LOT, lol. Also like you said the stress can make ya feel bad too.
