I really don't have a problem with the Seattle Public Transport System. So why would this sign come from out of nowhere and try to attack my car? Actually, it wasn't this exact sign, this is the only Seattle bus sign I managed to find online. The sign that attacked me is now wedged between two trees by the side of the road.
So how did this all come about you ask? The story begins now...
One bright sunny day there was a girl name Faith, that would be me, obviously. And it was actually quite overcast this dreary Friday afternoon, but it was the beginning of the weekend so there ain't nothing dreary about it. So I was taking a casual drive towards my oh-so-new regular haunt, the gym.
Fortunately, I was taking it slow and not driving as if I was competing in a grand prix, like I usually do. The next thing I know the car in front of me begins to swerve, just slightly, then I watch in amazement as the person drives up the curb, and proceeds to slam into the bus sign! Then she kept on driving as if nothing had happened? At this point I feel like I am watching a 3D action movie in a cinema, but I am not in a cinema and definitely not wearing those ugly 3D glasses, and the bus sign is plowing towards me. I manage to break hard and miss the oncoming onslaught...as my lady friend continues to drive along Lakeview Drive, as if nothing has happened. Could this be classed as a hit and run? Does it count when the object you are hitting is not a person or another vehicle?
What an adrenaline rush! I think I am slightly in shock, but it was pretty exciting. Unlike my usual pissed off self, I was some what concerned about the drivers wellbeing. Maybe she was having a heartache, or had fallen asleep at the wheel, or was she just drunk. She wasn't driving a volvo, so I can't blame volvo drivers? Maybe she should be driving a volvo as she certainly drove like most volvo drivers I have come across. Well I followed her to the main intersection and watched her as she turned up Belmont Avenue East. Casually driving off without a care in the world.
It appears that my lady friend just suffered a momentary lapse in judgement? All is well that ends well.
Hey gorgeous!
LUUUUURVE your blog!
Now, as far as this bus sign is concerned - you sure you really saw what you say you saw? Perhaps the woman was a witchypoo and put a spell on you? Perhaps she was drunk and that last valium she took just pushed into i-don't-care-land? Or perhaps I should have just gone home at 5.00pm tonight...
Love
