What makes this issue worse from my perspective is that it isn't really all about Alaska. This is a prelude to opening up other sites where moratoriums against drilling exploration exist -- such as the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Martinez, the politician whose vote cinched the issue yesterday, says he did so only after ensuring that the Gulf moratorium would survive at least as long as 2012. We'll see!

Sorry for your loss. Just curious, how do you feel about the existing pipeline in Alaska, and have you seen pictures of it with animals in the pictures? What's the main concern with the drilling in ANWR? Have you been there? Do you plan to take a family vacation there to enjoy this "national treasure?"
